My father is 84, lives in Paris and now has melanoma. I feel terrible that I know so little about his past. I want to ask him many questions, but don't want him to think it's because he might not live too much longer.Gutsy Livinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02226653890127738115noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9052453698252224336.post-1057917064510593182009-08-21T13:26:01.172+02:002009-08-21T13:26:01.172+02:00This is a beautiful post, Lauri. Well done and I hope it leads to something.Maxinehttp://slamup.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9052453698252224336.post-67236647153564533862009-08-21T11:54:21.276+02:002009-08-21T11:54:21.276+02:00You know, Selma, I wrote what I knew but I wonder ...You know, Selma, I wrote what I knew but I wonder do we ever really know our parents? Do we let them be human in any real sense? I wonder if my children really know me? We have to play a role, a lot of the lines provided by societal expectations. Perhaps when we are all adults is when we get to know our parents as humans. I didn't have that opportunity with my parents, I hope I'll have it with my children.

And thanks for your kind words.Laurihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11112458658109887868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9052453698252224336.post-16851806037168299852009-08-21T10:56:07.556+02:002009-08-21T10:56:07.556+02:00This is a very touching tribute to your father, La...This is a very touching tribute to your father, Lauri.
