I have shifted to the fast lane, apparently

After years of using the slowest dial-up connection in the world, yesterday the men came to hook up my ADSL. I think now that the problem is my expectations were too high. I expected lightening fast speed. I expected I could watch all sorts of videos like this one about One World that I've been waiting for for about ten minutes, though I did watch a bit of Bob Dylan on Sue Guiney's blog and that was nice.

Anyway now I am a little disappointed though at least I can be assured that I won't have any more of those scary telephone bills that have your hands shaking before you even open them. So that's a good thing. I'm just hoping today is a slow day and things will pick up after this. Though to be honest I really have no time to be looking at videos or playing on the internet so maybe it's the writing goddess pushing me back to work. Yeah, I think that's what it is.

  3. It might be your computer that's keeping things slow, not the connection. Glad to hear that you won't be getting those $telephone bill$ anymore though!

  5. I was disappointed with broadband speeds too when we moved from dial up. We're itching for ADSL2 but live just a few miles out of range... arrgghh!
