I'm not a photographer but the sunset outside my gate was so lovely I just wanted to share it. The picture doesn't do it justice, of course. Botswana and her big skies can't quite be photographed.
Now that you've enjoyed my sunset, stop over at
Blood Red Pencil for some fun. Marvin D. Wilson entertains with those 'that's not what I meant to say' lines like: Drunk Gets 9 Months in Voilin Case (shame!) and Include your Children when Baking Cookies (if you are Hansel and Gretel's Witchy Friend that is). Very funny!
Enjoy your weekend, Ditsala!
I can imagine the vastness of the skies in Africa. Must be breathtaking to see a sunset. Lovely!
ReplyDelete@selma: the skies would, of course, not be as vast in African cities, but if you go to sem-rural or rural areas, yes, a whole lot of sky...
ReplyDelete@Lauri: you have a lot of sky from your house; how do you do that?
Yes, it's hard to catch the sky with a camera. My husband is an excellent photographer and caught some lovely skies while in South Africa. Still, he said it's a fractional feel to that of actually being "under them". I wouldn't know, as I have not been to Africa "yet".

ReplyDeleteI'm ready to chuck my stupid camera for it's failure to ever portray what my heart sees.
ReplyDeleteHey, wait aminute! Whadya mean it might be the photographer!!!!?????
Hi! just found your blog via Val's - I'm enjoying reading through it very, very much! I am also crazy about our beautiful skies and sunsets, and can't stop photographing them!
ReplyDeleteKaren- thanks for stopping by. I'm only just back from a week in Gaborone at a workshop and trying to catch up on things but I did out your blog on my favourites list to go and read. Lovely photographs there of Kasane.
ReplyDeleteGOL- I have accepted the truth- it is the photographer or more precise- the inability of the photographer to read the instructions for her camera. :(
Here is Texas we also have some beautiful sunsets and sunrises, but they just don't capture well on camera. I've never been to Africa, but it seems like you would have amazing opportunities to take pictures!
