Last Friday the first instalment of my column It's All Write appeared in Botswana's The Voice newspaper. You can read the column here. (Click read more to get to the column). I've made a Facebook Page called It's All Write-The Column here. If you have a chance please join. I'd like the page to have lively discussions about writing in Botswana and around the world.
Hope you all are enjoying your long weekend and your holiday if you're celebrating one. My holiday is called St. Couch-Potato the Book Reader Day- I am taking the opportunity to worship devoutly. ENJOY!!!
Look at you! My heart soared when I saw the column and your picture. So exciting (and I had absolutely nothing to do with it, so I assume you're doing a dance step around your house).
ReplyDeleteLove the bunny/cat picture. Too cute.

Good for you gal! I read your column in the VOICE and it is clever, informative and timely! So its no wonder they chose you, you are a real asset, they and their/your readers are lucky to have you on their team! Go girl go!
ReplyDeleteThanks Catarina.
ReplyDeleteHelen, the photo is not so hot, we're changing it, but thanks for your support. Yes, I'm quite excited.
Nuri- Thanks so much for your kind words.I hope people will find the column helpful. We have such silence around books and writing in Botswana.
Congrats on the new column, I'm going to join your page on FB. Have a lovely holiday.
ReplyDeleteI just read your article and like the way you hooked your reader into wanting to read your next one. I'm very happy for you. Seems like you no longer need to get that other job you were talking about a few months back. Good for you. Congratulations. I shall join your FB page.
ReplyDeletei look forward to reading your column in The Voice. This is great - well done! have also joined the fb group. hope you are having a happy weekend?
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone.
ReplyDeleteGutsywriter- The job interview is on Wednesday. It's more about being with my husband in Gaborone and helping him through his time at university. But we'll see. I like being busy so a job and the column and my other writing should keep me very occupied.
Yes, Val, I'm enjoying the holiday. We're having lots of rain in Mahalapye. This morning we had a bit of sun so the dogs and hubby and I had a nice long walk.
Good for you, Lauri. Column reads easy, no bumps, no dead ends. Light but informative. Great plug for Batswana writers. I know fans of writers who troll bookstores "adjusting" displays so that their favorite writer is face out!
ReplyDeleteBTW I've written several books/series for Heinemann. Details available on request!
Hey, that looks great! Congrats. I'll go read it now.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bonita and Sue. Bonita great about your Heinemann series. I hope they at least are paying royalties not one-off.
ReplyDeleteThat's great about your column. I'm sure it'll be a big hit. Good on you!
