From a Friend in Egypt

On the last day I was in Egypt a friend of one of the writers I was with Dalia Basiouny took us on the most amazing tour of Cairo. A whirlwind tour that took us to ancient mosques and hidden magical places. Her love of Cairo was so apparent, she adored the city. Through the last 12 days I've wondered about her and others I met in Egypt. I was so happy to read her account here of being in Tahrir Square on the Day of Departure. Here is her blog from Cairo.

I've been so touched by the humanity and dignity of the protesters; their bravery up against such fear and mis-information.

They are all heroes and I hope they know the world is with them.

Very interesting to get a firsthand account. The Egyptian Revolution is quite an amazing phenomenon to watch. To be part of history in the making is quite something & Dalia's notes reflect that.

I really admire the protesters considering how dangerous it is for them to speak up. I am really glad your friend is alright. It must be a frightening time for her. I am certainly with her and all those fighting for change in Egypt too.

It amazing to have a first hand account because one thing that has been so apparent through the coverage of this revolution has been the biasness of reporting. You really do not know who to believe.
